Let's Go to the Zoo

Last week Christie and I took Andi to the zoo for the first time! It was a spur of the moment idea and we had fun. Andi enjoyed it for the most part. I think she enjoyed seeing other kids the most. She did like the turtles, peacock, goats, and geese. It was really hot too and a lot of the animals were hard to see or not even around.
She liked the goats until one nibbled her fingers and then she was scared of them.

There was a donkey that made the funniest faces when he was wanting food. Christie had fun with him.

Andi liked the Tiger's den. The tiger was in a pool and then got out and kept strutting a long the fence.

The mountain lion came right up to the glass which was neat, they normally don't do that.
The Giraffe's were the neatest, I think. I couldn't believe how big they were. There were 7 of them and they were gigantic!

Since the weather has been nice and warm, I have been trying to do a lot of fun things with her, mostly outdoors like going to the park and getting her interested in water. I bought her a sprinkler ball and she is scared of it. I have to hold her and run around in it. We are going to go to White Water in July. They have a couple of toddler sections that I think she will enjoy. As long as I am with her and she sees other kids doing it, she will like it. When she takes a bath she has started dipping her face and head in the water and then laughs about it.
Surprisingly she wears the sunglasses really well.
You can see her two bottom teeth. She has 10 total that are showing and you can see the others just under the skin.

I have gotten in a bad habit of every time we go to the store, I buy her a toy. She is spoiled rotten. She has really taken a liking to coloring and she mostly uses her left hand.

She still tries to attack kids, running up to them and screaming. She saw a little boy in a restaurant and made a friend.

I got together with Erin and her little girl, Abby. Abby kept shoving her pacifier in Andi's mouth and I don't think Andi knew what to think...lol. They played really well together! It was good to catch up with Erin and see her family.

Andi likes to play peek-a-boo and gets a kick out of it. It is funny how the littlest things can get her to laughing. It has been a joy watching her grow!

Hunting Easter Eggs

We had a nice day on Easter and Andi got to hunt some eggs. She really enjoyed the chocolate inside. She kept giving them to Matt so he would unwrap them for her. She was on such a sugar high, and it being early in the morning wasn't ideal.

I said I was going to dress her up and I did, however she didn't like the dress. I had bought this dress before she was born and it needed to be worn. She kept pulling it up over her head and stomping her feet.

She was definitely tired of her dress afterwards and ready for it to come off! I let her run around outside naked for a couple of hours and I think she enjoyed that more than finding eggs.

Toddling Around

Andi has grown into a toddler which seems overnight and she toddles around everywhere. She has been a lot of fun with her discoveries and expressions. She is such a joy and she gives the best hugs around the neck. I can't believe how fast she is growing, she has had another growth spurt. Her mouth is getting full of teeth and she has learned to blow kisses.
I have started fixing her hair more girly, basically in pigtails. She looks adorable!!!

She has learned to operate the stereo and change CD's. She will change them so Miranda Lambert plays. I apparently made her a fan when she was in the womb.

I bought her an early Easter present, a four-wheeler. The video is her first time on it. She did awesome however, she won't ride it now. Some how she scared herself. She did great that whole evening then the next day she wouldn't get on it. She has been going through a lot of phases lately like not wanting to take baths, she won't sit down in the water or likes to get her head wet. She will take a bath or shower with me just fine. She is timid around a lot of things now that she used to not be. Hopefully she grows out of this soon, especially by summer.

We have been working on her words. We play an animal sounds game. I'll say," What does a doggy say?" She says," Row Row." We go through kitty, birdie, owl, turkey, chicken, duck, horse, and others. I like to play this game a lot and she will really get into it which is adorable. She is such an animal lover! Any animal and she takes off after it with her arms out.

We finally got her sleep under control. Instead of rocking her, we give her milk and say it's time to go nite-nite and put her in her crib. Before she would fall asleep while being rocked but when placed in her crib she would wake. Now she goes to sleep on her own. It has been very successful!

The weather has finally warmed up and we are spending our days outside a lot! I can't wait until summer and we can go swimming! Hopefully she is over being scared of getting wet by then.

We have decided in January that I will go part-time and I can hardly stand it until then. I make great money but the stress and long hours are not worth it! I will just have my student loans left to pay so I will work 3 days a week and get a weekend off a month. I am burned out and just want to spend more time with my family and stop missing out on the finer things in life!

Teething and a Cold

These past couple of weeks Andi has had a snotting cold that seems to be taking forever to leave. After she had her issue with the shots she came down with a fever and her eyes would water really bad. She developed a cough with congestion in her lungs, which sounded awful. She is better now except for the runny nose. She gave it to both Matt and I and it has made its way through the family.
She has had four teeth break through on top. 2 molars and the teeth in front. She is finally getting teeth and she loves to bite me now and draw blood. She thinks it is funny even when I bite her back. She is something else!

One of the things I forgot to write last time was her new development, hugging. She gives hugs now which melts my heart and tons of kisses. She has said another new word, night-night. We have been playing an animal sound game with her. We will say" What does an owl say?" Hoot, Hoot and she will hoot. She likes to take part and will make her own sounds and try to play along. It is really cute. She shuffles her feet now when she gets excited, like she is tap dancing and she still does a stomp in a circle.

Luckily the store is closed on Easter so we will have a get together at our house and Andi can hunt Easter eggs. I will dress her in a pretty Easter dress just for my grandparents! Until next time.....
